Pump Repair Pricing

Pump repairs vary depending on the brand, model, condition, water damage, electrical condition and parts required. The prices below give you a practical starting point before we inspect the pump.

Quote Only $39

Inspection and quote only. Return shipping is extra if the pump needs to be sent back.

Small Repairs From $149

Minor repairs such as capacitors, simple leaks, leads, plugs or basic workshop repairs where suitable.

Bearings & Seals From $290

Bearing and mechanical seal repairs on suitable pumps. Final cost depends on pump type and condition.

Important: Pricing is not a fixed repair guarantee. Pumps with seized shafts, burnt windings, broken housings, corrosion, water-damaged motors or obsolete parts may cost more or may not be economical to repair.

Brands We Can Usually Help With

We only advertise repairs for pump brands we currently sell, support or regularly stock parts for. If your pump is an unsupported brand, an obscure import or a no-name pump, we may recommend replacement instead of repair.

Common Pump Repairs

Many pool and spa pumps fail from normal wear, leaking mechanical seals, noisy bearings, poor electrical connections, damaged capacitors or previous water ingress. We inspect the pump properly before recommending a repair.

  • Noisy pump motor or grinding bearings
  • Leaking mechanical seal
  • Pump humming but not starting
  • Failed start or run capacitor
  • Minor electrical lead, plug or terminal repairs
  • Wet-end leaks, cracked parts or damaged O-rings where parts are available
  • Impeller, diffuser, seal plate or union issues where parts are available

When Repair Is Not Worthwhile

Some pumps are better replaced than repaired. We will tell you if a repair is uneconomical, unsafe or unlikely to last.

  • Motor windings are burnt out
  • The pump has heavy internal corrosion
  • The shaft is badly damaged or seized
  • The wet end or motor body is cracked
  • The pump is an unsupported import with no reliable parts supply
  • The repair cost is too close to the price of a suitable replacement pump
We do not recommend spending good money on a pump that is already badly corroded, obsolete, unsupported or likely to fail again soon.

How It Works

Send photos first Send clear photos of the pump, nameplate, plumbing connections and the fault. This helps us confirm whether the pump is a brand we currently support.
We confirm whether it is worth assessing If the pump is a supported brand and repair looks possible, we will advise the next step. If not, we may recommend replacement.
Bring it in or send it to us Pumps can be dropped to our Carrum Downs workshop or shipped to us. Return shipping is extra where required.
We inspect and quote Quote-only inspection is $39. If the repair proceeds, we will confirm parts and labour before completing the work.

What To Send Us

To avoid wasting time, send the following before bringing or posting the pump:

  • Brand and model
  • Photo of the pump label or motor nameplate
  • Photo of the full pump
  • Description of the fault
  • Whether it is from a pool, spa, swim spa or circulation system
  • Your suburb and whether you want drop-off, pickup or return shipping

Pump Repair FAQ

Do you repair every pump brand?

No. We generally only repair brands we currently sell, support or can source parts for. This avoids wasting money on pumps that cannot be repaired properly.

Is the $39 quote fee refundable?

The $39 quote fee covers inspection and assessment. If you want it treated differently when a repair proceeds, adjust this wording to match your internal policy.

Can you repair a noisy pump?

Often, yes. Noisy pumps commonly have worn bearings, but we still need to check for shaft damage, water ingress, corrosion and mechanical seal failure.

Can you repair a leaking pump?

Often, yes. Leaks are commonly caused by a failed mechanical seal, O-ring, wet-end part or union issue. Repairs depend on the brand, model and parts availability.

Can I post my pump to you?

Yes, if we have confirmed it is worth assessing. Return shipping is extra where required. Pumps must be drained, clean and packed properly before shipping.

Do you test the pump after repair?

Yes. Suitable repaired pumps are checked before return. Some faults only appear under site conditions, such as plumbing restriction, poor suction, air leaks or electrical supply issues.
